BIKE FOR THE MUSIC -- Saturday - FEBRUARY 18, 2023

Rain or shine, the ride is on, so let's ride! Click Red Bike to download registration form!

Come ride amidst the most beautiful farmland in America during the spring almond blossom bloom in the breadbasket of California's central valley. At the same time, you will be supporting music throughout the West for children, seniors and the mentally handicapped. All riders welcome.

Meet at the American Legion Hall, 206 S. Stockton Street in downtown Ripon, California (65 miles south of Sacramento on Highway 99) on Saturday February 18, 2023 for the most beautiful bike ride in North America. Compete against your own best.

Proceeds to benefit Music First of San Joaquin Valley. The course is made up of flat, paved streets and country roads. The full metric course crosses the central valley's three major rivers: the San Joaquin, the Tuolumne and the Stanislaus. It pauses mid-ride riverside at Laird County Park in Grayson then on the beautiful San Joaquin National Wildlife Refuge, a brief detour to the Durham Ferry State Recreation Area and then home for a close encounter with lush Caswell State Park in Ripon.  All entries include fully-stocked aid stations, bicycle mechanics, pre-ride continental breakfast and a commemorative medallion.

  7. "Full Century" means 100 miles, not 100k - this 100k ride should be labeled with the standard nomenclature "Metric Century." Between that and the lack of a course map or elevation map, this feels like a very poorly organized ride. Still interested, but having reservations.

  8. The exact route of the event will not be available until the first week of February. We are expanding the route to include stops at 3 beautiful State Parks and a wildlife refuge all located near our old route in a 60-mile loop south of Ripon, California, winding through almond orchards and crossing over the 3 major rivers of the Northern San Joaquin Valley. The map will be posted on our website www.musicfirstusa.info. Thanks for your interest. Hope to see you at the event.

  10. Hi Carrie, Myself along with my two boys age 10 and 7 are interested in joining this event. Is there a restriction in speed? My 7 year old is not quite there yet but love to bike. I could chose to ride in tandem with him if speed is a concern. Hoping to hear from you. Thank you... Henry S.

  13. It was a perfect day for the ride. Not too hot. Not too cold. Met four new friends along the way. Lots of blossoms and other things to see. The Tuolumne and San Joaquin Rivers are overflowing their banks - oh my! Saw flooded orchard (Tuolumne River) and flooded "sport club" with a pickup truck and two campers almost underwater (San Joaquin River). Saw egrets and blue heron along with other birds I can't identify. Next year - do something about those headwinds, ok?
